The Dean of the new Honors College at Rutgers asked me to help him redesign the curriculum for their inaugural 500 student undergraduate program – this was in May of this year. We installed the programming from Action Horizon into the new honors college successfully.
During a follow up meeting with the Dean and a few other innovation partners, I met Chris Palle. Chris is the driving force behind the new Bell Works facility in Holmdel, NJ – the incubator and coworking empire of the region.
Chris and I scheduled a one-on-one follow up meeting. We seemed to have a strong connection from the start. During my first meeting with Chris we walked around Bell Works and talked for nearly four hours. I would have preferred to sit down, but I think Chris likes to stand up during meetings. He took an interest in what we are trying to do with Action Horizon. He said we have something that’s missing in his incubator at Bell and he would like to make us part of his programming.
I would like to invite you to our next Statewide Partners General Meetup which will take place at Bell Works on Wednesday, January 13th at 7pm. Our local meetups will continue to take place at the Princeton Public Library, but our hub of operations will likely be moving to Bell in an effort to strengthen our local programs.
Come to this meetup to establish relationships with statewide partners and get to know some of the candidates for our second cohort of Scholars. We’ll also start talking about our upcoming social innovation conference taking place in May 2016.
